Spider-Man game

Spider-Man PS4 is being developed by Insomniac Games, the creator of the Resistance, Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank series.
The developer has confirmed Spider-Man will launch this year, and will also take advantage of the additional power of the PS4 Pro. Hopefully we’ll see much more of it at E3 2018.
Trusted Reviews has rounded up everything you need to know about Spider-Man PS4 and we’ll be updating this page as new information crops up, so make sure you bookmark it!

Spider-Man PS4 release date – When can we start web-slinging?

Spider-Man is currently slated for a 2018 release date exclusively on PS4. Insomniac Games is yet to reveal a concrete release date.
Recent rumours suggest the web-head will be swinging into our lives toward the end of the year, making it a title to rival the likes of Red Dead Redemption 2 or Battlefield 5.

Spider-Man PS4 Trailers – How’s it look?

E3 brought us a new, 9 minute-long, gameplay trailer that treated us to previews of the combat, stealth, and web-slinging gameplay. It’s an impressive clip that does a great job of showcasing the various types of mechanics we’ll be getting to grips with come launch.
Plus, it features Miles Morales, (the current Spider-Man in the comics), who shows up at the end of the clip. Does that mean he is, in fact, Spidey in the game? Here’s the trailer:

The latest trailer came at Paris Games Week, which you can watch below:

Is Spider-Man PS4 related to the Spider-Man movies?

This is a standalone game, unrelated to either the previous Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man, or upcoming Amazing Spider-Man movies. That means it will tell its own unique story and not reflect the events from the movies.

Spider-Man PS4 gameplay – How does it look?

Spider-Man is an open world action-adventure title where you play as everyone’s friendly neighbourhood superhero. You’ll be free to explore the city of Manhattan by foot or in the air by swinging across sprawling skyscrapers and smaller suburbs. Characters such as Peter Parker, Miles Morales and Mary Jane were confirmed in recent trailers, showing that Insomniac Games is placing a big focus on narrative.
Environmental combat, parkour and stealth are core elements of gameplay with abilities you can unlock and upgrade while progressing. We haven’t seen much of the game’s exploration but the city itself feels absolutely massive. Hopefully the level of content matches the scope of Spider-Man’s world.
